Digital Extremes released the next big chapter in Warframe’s Fortuna expansion last month with The Profit Taker, but that was for PC players only. Xbox One and PS4 Tenno will now finally get their shot at taking down an Orb Mother though. The Profit Taker goes live today for consoles (Nintendo Switch players will have to wait though).

The objective in The Profit Taker is fulfilling several stages of “heist” planning. This culminates in an ultimate battle with the giant spider-like Orb Mother that’s been causing headaches for Solaris United. To help players stand a chance, Archwing weapons aka Archguns can be used on land. Make sure you come prepared and level them accordingly.

The latest Warframe, Baruuk, is also coming to consoles with this update. A support/DPS frames, Baruuk is capable of sleeping a large number of foes, dodging enemy projectiles when not attacking, and disarming enemies with floating daggers. When his Restraint is fully eroded thanks to eluding a whole bunch, Baruuk can activate Serene Storm and destroy foes with radial strikes.

This year is going to be especially busy for Warframe players, with a new end-game activity called The Wolf of Saturn Six and two new frames in development. Stay tuned for more news in the coming months.

Around every corner there’s something interesting to see, and the game always keeps things fresh with incredible variety in both, art style and visual design, while the series’ iconic methods of traversal make the entire world feel literally boundless. Whether you’re riding your horse across vast, rolling plains, or clambering across the rooftops of Athens, or sailing through a furious storm out on the Aegean Sea, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s world never ceases to amaze you.

PC players have been K-Driving to the high heavens since Warframe’s newest open world expansion Fortuna arrived last month. Today, PS4 and Xbox One players get their turn, as Fortuna is now live. Nintendo Switch players will have to wait slightly longer to get their hover-board fix.

Fortuna is simply enormous in scope. It brings a large new open world set on Venus with activities like base infiltration, bounties, mining, and fishing. There are a bevy of new features, like the aforementioned K-Drive that can be customized to your heart’s content. Kit-Guns are custom secondary weapons that players can build on their own, and they pack quite the wallop.

Of course, there’s also a new story quest to help the people of Fortuna rise up against Nef Anyo and the Corpus. Soon, players will be able to fight against the giant Orb Mothers crawling around on the planet’s surface. Check out the console launch trailer below.

Digital Extremes’ free to play action RPG Warframe is now available on Nintendo Switch, courtesy of port wizards Panic Button. It brings five years worth of content and updates, including the open world Plains of Eidolon and cinematic quests like The Second Dream and The War Within. New players on Switch will have a free package of items to help get them started. It includes a three day Affinity Booster, an Orokin Catalyst (which doubles mod capacity on weapons), an Orokin Reactor (which doubles mod capacity on Warframes and Archwings), Forma, and 50,000 Credits. These items can be claimed before December 4th, but you have to complete the tutorial quest “Vor’s Prize” first.

If you’ve been keeping track of Fortuna, Warframe’s latest open world expansion, it’s not currently available on the Switch version. Garuda, the newest frame, isn’t either. Digital Extremes has stated that both pieces of content will arrive together “soon”. Parity of updates across all consoles will happen in 2019, though a concrete date hasn’t been decided.

Following a two hour stream where game director Steve Sinclair worked to get the update ready, Warframe’s massive Fortuna update is now available for PC. It’s completely free, and offers a new open world set on the frozen wasteland of Venus. Players will tackle the Corpus threat, while helping the Solaris of Fortuna to rebel.

Fortuna offers a lot more than just a new open world to explore (one that’s several times larger than Plains of Eidolon). It also brings new weapons, a new frame called Garuda, new bounty types, a new story quest, and lots of other side activities. You can also track down escaped animals and send them back to the reserve for safe-keeping, or pick up a K-Drive hoverboard and do some grinding.

There are even massive spider creatures roaming the landscape that will take some ingenuity to defeat. The Fortuna update is currently live for PC, and will be coming “soon” to PS4 and Xbox One. If the release schedule is anything like Plains of Eidolon, expect a number of hotfixes before console users finally get their hands on it.

If the announcement of Diablo Immortal has you down, don’t worry. Digital Extremes has finally narrowed down a release window for Warframe’s next big update, Fortuna. Taking place on Venus, Fortuna is a huge open world environment with a hostile, snow-covered surface. Underground, however, is the debt-internment colony run by the Corpus and their aristocrat Nef Anyo. Players will take on bounties with rebellious Solaris United and seek to liberate the denizens of Fortuna.

That means new weapons, a new frame called Garuda, Moa Companions, customizable secondary weapons known as Kitguns, and even hoverboards called K-Drives for traversing the surface. Fortuna promises to be several times bigger than Plains of Eidolon, but whether it will be a more stable launch remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more information on the exact release date as it becomes available.

Digital Extremes recently announced that its next big open world area for Warframe, Fortuna, would be releasing in November. It will be heading to PC players first, with console players getting the expansion “soon after”. Just like last year’s Plains of Eidolon, Fortuna will be completely free for all players.

Set on Venus with a much larger map to explore compared to the Plains, Fortuna will add a new faction to support, new enemies to fight and new rewards to earn. Players can build and customize their own secondary weapons, and even explore the planet with a hoverboard called the K-Drive. It’s even possible to track and capture animals for specific tasks.

The developer also confirmed that its next Frame, dubbed Garuda, would be releasing alongside Fortuna. The so-called “gore frame” drains health from enemies, maims herself for increased damage, and even spins around in a whirlwind of death. We’ll learn more about Fortuna’s exact release date in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Of the many things that impressed Warframe fans at TennoCon 2018, Digital Extremes’ annual convention for all things related to the third person action looter, Railjack arguably stood out the most. Not only was it looking to bring space combat with ships into the game, but players could cooperate together, operate different parts of a single ship, and cooperate to assault a capital ship.

While Railjack won’t be coming with the open world Fortuna this year, it is currently scheduled for a 2019 release. This was confirmed in a recent Facebook post by the developer. When it will arrive in 2019 is anyone’s guess – even Fortuna doesn’t have a proper release date, though a mainline PC update will be deployed in the near future to prepare for it.

In the latest DevStream, Digital Extremes did reveal new details about Railjack. Corpus Fighters were showcased, with all factions receiving fighter units to battle in Railjack. Furthermore, Railjack will be its own mode with different types of missions. Concept art for an Earth skybox was revealed, indicating a possible Railjack mission taking place in orbit.

In the mean time, Nintendo Switch players can look forward to Warframe’s release for the platform on November 20th.
