Wartales: Pirates of Belerion also brings with it new options for base game content, including a new character class, weapon type, and new enemies, among other things.

The story in Pirates of Belerion revolves around the Sea Lords. Players will have to take to the seas in order to learn the sailing secrets of the Sea Lords, and will even get to take part in naval combat, as well as 1-on-1 duels with rival captains.

In keeping with the pirate theme, the DLC also brings with it new places to explore, a new culture, and a chance for players to earn more gold, infamy, and treasure. Along the way, players will get to interact with seafaring natives.

Wartales: Pirates of Belerion is available at $19.99. Wartales spent some time in Early Access on PC before eventually getting its 1.0 update back in April, and coming to Xbox Series X/S in November.

Wartales has been available on PC through Steam for quite a while as an Early Access title. The game left Early Access through a 1.0 release back in April. More recently, the game also made its way on to the Nintendo Switch.

The game proved to be quite successful for Shiro Games even back during its Early Access title. As of May, the game had sold over 600,000 copies. The number of copies sold has undoubtedly gone up since then.

Wartales is a tactical RPG where players are encouraged to find their own way through its diverse open world. The game revolves around players putting together their very own band of mercenaries as they take on quests and try to survive.

You are now more than 600,000 players who have explored the Wartales world, and so many of you have spent hundreds of hours enjoying the game and sharing your discoveries with other players. Wartales follows a medieval world beset by the Great Plague, which brought the previous Edoran Empire down a century prior. You command a group of mercenaries, doing your best to get by while taking on contracts and bounties to survive. Since exiting early access, it offers over 100 hours of gameplay, with the 1.0 release adding more story content, full English voice acting, and a new Tomb of the Ancients.

The level cap has also increased to 12, and Braveries, powerful new skills for each character per round, are also available. It also added various quality-of-life changes, like the last level of Professions taking less time to unlock, revamps to The Alchemist and more. Whether it will receive extensive post-launch support like Northgard remains to be seen, so stay tuned.

Additional story content has been added, and the entire game now has English voice acting. Along with a new Elite and arena, there’s a new Tomb of the Ancients in Vetrue to explore, which contains a “special enemy.” Don’t worry – you can bolster your party with snow wolves and bears, and the level cap is now 12. There are also Braveries, 12 new skills that are available once per character in a round.

A new difficulty is available in the Arenas, and Professions have been rebalanced so that the last level takes less time to unlock. The Alchemist also got some quality-of-life changes like purchasing oil recipes with krowns, fewer random effects, brand new recipes and much more. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.

Now, a full launch date for the RPG has also been confirmed. Shiro Games has announced that Wartales will receive its 1.0 launch less than a month from now, on April 12. The developer hasn’t yet confirmed what new content the game will be adding with its 1.0 release or what its new price will be following its full launch, but it was previously confirmed that it would receive a “small” price increase upon exiting early access. Wartales is available on PC. It remains to be seen whether console versions are also planned.

A new Tomb of the Ancients and various points of interest have also been added. One of the more interesting new places are the Forsaken Villages. Choose the stealthiest members of your group and explore for loot, taking care not to make too much noise (especially since the Marshlands are full of plague Hordes).

Some of the new enemies include Bears, Crocswines and Giant Mosquitos. Upon reaching level 5, all enemy factions gain a new unit; past level 6, they receive unique passives to make them stronger. The good news is that the new animal types, even the Giant Mosquitos, can be tamed.

If that weren’t enough, new battle modes – Survival and Escape – have been added. The former focuses on standing your ground for a number of rounds while the latter is about reaching a certain area to flee from pursuing foes. You can also expect rockfalls in some combat biomes and for lightning to strike during storms.

In December 2021/January 2022, Ironman Mode will be added along with a tutorial for new players, new content and more character customization. Starting options can also be set, allowing one to disable level scaling (which is currently enabled by default). In Q1 2022, the first new region – Harag’s Marshlands – will be added along with a level cap increase, the Forsaken Villages, animal skills, and new hostile creatures.

Future updates include more regions, companion events, an upgrade system for one’s camping gear and randomized content. This is in addition to new skills, items, jobs, traits, crafts and so on. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.

Wartales is estimated to be in early access for around 12 months but as the developer notes, it could be “even sooner, depending on how quickly we are able to reach our milestones and implement all of our planned features and content. But there’s no rush, we just want to ensure that whenever the final release may be, the game is exactly where it needs to be.”

The early access version includes three regions with 10 to 15 hours of gameplay each, though systemic content generation ensures that there’s even more in store. There are 550 items, 240 skills and 30 classes at present. More regions with their own content will be added along with additional generated content. Players can also expect “more diverse opponents,” new modes, and of course, patches to fix bugs and balance the game.

Wartales retails for $34.99 on Steam Early Access (though it’s currently discounted by 10 percent till December 8th). It will see a small price increase when it officially launches. Stay tuned for more details on subsequent updates in the coming months.

The current plan for Wartales is to remain in early access for “around 12 months” though it could exit sooner based on how quickly the developer implements “all of our planned features and content.” As such, it’s in no rush and wants the final game to be “exactly where it needs to be” regardless of the release date. The early access version comprises the full experience as envisioned but with content limited to a few regions at the beginning.

Throughout early access, Shiro Games is looking to have balancing changes, new rules and modes, more regions, new “diverse” opponents and improvements. Redfall

Arkane Studios’ rumored Omen was finally revealed as open world co-op shooter Redfall. The story sees an island in Massachusetts cut off from the rest of the world after vampires block out the sun. Naturally, as a survivor, you need to kill them and escape. Though gameplay wasn’t revealed, there will be multiple playable characters, each with their own unique abilities and gadgets. And though it may seem akin to Back 4 Blood, Bethesda’s Pete Hines says that a more methodical approach will be needed instead of running and gunning. Redfall is slated to release in Summer 2022 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
