World of Warcraft, currently at the tail end of its Dragonflight expansion, will see three more major content updates before the release of The War Within. Winter will see the release of patch 10.2.5—Seeds of Renewal—which will essentially act as an epilogue to the expansion’s story. The update will also bring with it Worldwide Dragonriding, allowing players to use the new flying mount mechanics all over the game’s world instead of in just the Dragon Isles.

Following a secret update after Seeds of Renewal, Spring will see the launch of Season 4, which will have players revisit the raids of the Dragonflight expansion. Shortly afterwards, the game will get the 10.2.7 update, dubbed Dark Heart, which will bring new Harbinger quests, a new Holiday event, and Heritage Armor for Torll and Draenei players. The update will also bring back Timerunning.

Summer will see World of Warcraft get ready for The War Within, with the release of a pre-patch to prepare the game in terms of story and gameplay for the new expansion. World of Warcraft: The War Within will launch between Summer and Autumn, and is scheduled for one major update before Winter kicks off.

World of Warcraft Classic‘s roadmap is an expansion of not only Wratch of the Lich King Classic and the impending release of Cataclysm Classic, but also new updates for Season of Discovery. World of Warcraft Classic is also getting a Self-Found mode for its Hardcore realms, which essentially forces players to find all of their gear by themselves, without a player economy to help them out.

Dubbed Titan Rune dungeons, the feature allows players to interact with an item at the entrance of all level 80 Heroic dungeons. Interacting with this item will cause all enemies in the dungeon to gain increased health, damage, and additional effects.

The reward for partaking in Titan Rune dungeons is gear that is typically dropped in 10-player versions of the Naxxramas, Eye of Eternity, and The Obsidian Sanctum raids.

Alongside the new Titan Rune dungeons, the update is also bringing with it the start of the Argent Tournament, an update to Emblem drops and vendors, and to headline the patch, the opening of one of the most beloved raids in World of Warcraft—Ulduar. The raid features 14 boss fights, culminating in a fight against the Old God Yogg-Saron.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic is available as part of a regular World of Warcraft subscription on PC.

The trailer makes impressive use of the in-game art assets to give us a glimpse at the battles that await us on the shores of Northrend.

Thanks to its unique art style, the trailer also gives us a unique look at some of Wrath of the Lich King Classic‘s zones, including the Borrean Tundra, Grizzly Hills, Dragonblight, and even the PvP zone Wintergrasp.

While Wrath of the Lich King Classic is close to release, mainline World of Warcraft is getting ready for the release of its latest expansion—Dragonflight.

At the time of announcement, Blizzard said that Wrath of the Lich King Classic would be out sometime in 2022, while recently, an update made to the game’s official website accidentally leaked a September launch. That has now been officially confirmed. Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be out for PC on September 26. Beta opt-ins are now live, and the full version of the expansion will go live on launch day at 3 PM PDT globally.

The expansion will feature updated raids, achievements, a new profession in Inscription, and more. In anticipation of the upcoming launch, players in Burning Crusade Classic will get a buff that increases all experience gains by 50%. The buff can be toggled on and off, and will only be available until Wrath of the Lich King Classic launches.

Interestingly, it seems like Blizzard itself may have accidentally spill the beans on the classic expansion’s release date. As spotted by Wowhead, World of Warcraft Classic’s official website was recently updated to mention a launch date of September 26. “The Lich King Returns September 26, 2022,” a message on the page read briefly, before promptly being taken back down.

Previously, Blizzard had confirmed that Wrath of the Lich King Classic would be out sometime in 2022 itself, so if that is still indeed the plan and if the aforementioned September date wasn’t just mentioned in error, an official announcement for the same probably won’t be far away. Wrath of the Lich King Classic sees players traveling to Northrend to fight off the Scourge and battle the King himself in Icecrown Citadel. The Death Knight is also being added, which starts at level 55, along with the Runecarving profession exclusive to the class. Players can also journey into new (or rather, remastered) dungeons and raids en route to hitting the level 80 cap.
