										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There&#8217;s a powerful trio of enemies heading to <em>Shinobi: Art of Vengeance</em>, and the chances are you&#8217;re probably familiar with them already.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/shinobi-art-of-vengeance-adds-like-a-dragons-goro-majima-in-sega-villains-stage-dlc"><em>Sega Villains Stage</em> DLC</a> is bringing <em>Yakuza&#8217;s </em>Goro Majima, <em>Sonic&#8217;s </em>Dr. Eggman, and Death Adder from <em>Golden Axe</em> to the game&#8217;s world via mysterious rifts that Joe Musashi is trying to close by the most obvious method: Defeating the source of their power. That&#8217;s going to lead to some memorable showdowns with the aforementioned characters, who are in a decidedly different element than what we&#8217;ve come to expect.</p>
<p>There are five new stages aside from the three bosses, alongside new music tracks inspired by them. Aside from two Boss Rush modes featuring the new threats, there&#8217;s a trio of ninpos and skins each to round things off. We were very happy with the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/shinobi-art-of-vengeance-review-the-one-and-only">base game</a> last year, and there&#8217;s no reason to believe that the DLC is going to be any different. It&#8217;s time to let your katana sing as you side-scroll through some chaotic fighting against familiar yet formidable opponents,</p>

<p>That&#8217;s because it&#8217;s bringing a long list of balancing changes to systems governing your hunger (like reducing the drain while sleeping) and recovery from it alongside other changes like nifty new additions to vendor shops, legendary upgrades for DLC weapon blueprints, and some clever changes to you inventory management that ensure you don&#8217;t miss out on new gear thanks to a shortage of space in your inventory and stash. <p>Although Nightfall is coming to an end, paving the way for the Hunter/Prey update, the developers have decided to retain the VL-7 Smoke and Night Mode (with a rotation of limited-time options being considered for future updates). There are also further refinements to progression systems that are set to expand into other areas, including vehicles, weapons, your career, and REDSEC. The general idea is to speed things up and give you more ways to enjoy a game that we felt was a <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/battlefield-6-review-finally-a-battlefield-worth-fighting-over">solid return to form</a> when it was first released.</p>
<p>Aside from that, Hunter/Prey marks the final phase of Season 2, bringing the VL-7 as a permanent modifier to the Gauntlet alongside a host of balancing and QoL changes that you can check in their entirety <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2807960/view/507357952986841718" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a>. It drops on April 14, 2026, and is sure to help those lamenting the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/battlefield-hardlines-console-run-is-ending-on-may-22nd-pc-version-safe-for-now">closure of</a> <em>Battlefield Hardline </em>on consoles cope with their loss. After <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/starfield-gets-one-more-free-lanes-overview-ahead-of-the-updates-release">yesterday&#8217;s overview</a> of the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/starfield-free-lanes-and-terran-armada-15-things-you-need-to-know">upcoming Free Lanes update</a>, it <a href="https://bethesda.net/en/game/starfield/article/1yZpSD4e9tVKNlQoQKCNIs/starfield-playstation-5-exclusive-features" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">outlines all the features</a> that PlayStation fans can expect.</p>



<p>These include support for the DualSense&#8217;s adaptive triggers, which offer different resistances depending on the weaponry (even those on starships). The in-built speaker will play audio logs and intercoms between ships, while the Light Bar displays your current remaining health, changing colors based on how well (or terribly) things are going.</p>



<p>Finally, you can use the Touchpad as a shortcut for several functions, such as changing the perspective, scanning the world or accessing other key menus. For <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/starfield-supports-ps5-pro-with-4k-30-fps-visual-and-60-fps-performance-modes">those on PS5 Pro</a>, two graphical modes are available: Pro Visual and Pro Performance. The former outputs at native 4K and targets 30 frames per second, while promising &#8220;maximum visual fidelity&#8221;, while the latter targets 60 FPS for a &#8220;faster, more fluid experience.&#8221;</p>



<p>And while it didn&#8217;t reveal the resolution in Pro Performance, Bethesda confirmed that PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution is active in both. <em>Starfield</em> <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/starfields-free-lanes-update-and-terran-armada-expansion-goes-live-on-april-7th">launches on April 7th</a> for PS5, retailing for $49.99. You can pay $70 for the Premium Edition, which includes <em>Shattered Space</em> and the new <em>Terran Armada</em> expansion, or $10 extra for the latter alone.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With the use of AI continuing to be a hot-button subject in the gaming industry, Nexon—parent company of <em>ARC Raiders</em> developer Embark Studio—has offered some thoughts on the matter. In its latest <a href="https://www.nexon.co.jp/en/ir/events-interviews/detail/?entry_id=663" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Capital Markets Briefing</a>, the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/arc-raiders-studio-boss-is-now-executive-chairman-at-nexon">executive chairman</a> and Embark Studio head, Patrick Söderlund, along with Nexon CEO Junghun Lee, spoke about how the company is using generative AI on its projects.</p>
<p>Söderlund has noted that the presence of generative AI presents a unique challenge to the gaming industry. While many developers are using it as a tool, he has said that the companies that best understand the challenge will end up being “the winners” in the race to effectively use AI.</p>
<p>&#8220;Every company has a plan; most will get it wrong,&#8221; Söderlund said. &#8220;They&#8217;re committing big investments in tools &#8211; but tools won&#8217;t help because they&#8217;ve misread the challenge. AI may be a race, but the winners won&#8217;t be the first movers &#8211; the winners will be the ones who understood the challenge. Think of game development as auto mechanics. The tools are available to everyone, but not everyone has the knowledge and experience to use them. That&#8217;s where Nexon is different.&#8221;</p>
<p>Lee, on the other hand, said that Nexon’s methodology in how it employs generative AI won’t lead to replacing the game developers responsible for a project’s creative aspects. Rather, “it frees them to create, with context.” This “context” is a reference to a collection of data used at Nexon that has been created over many years, dubbed the Mono Lake Initiative.</p>
<p>&#8220;Mono Lake makes the intelligence available across everything we build and operate &#8211; every developer, every live ops team, every product decision has access to the base of information we&#8217;ve accumulated over decades,&#8221; he said. &#8220;AI without context is just speed. Faster output of a generic outcome. Tools that know nothing about design history, player behavior, or innovation. Without context, AI is a race to the arithmetic middle where everyone&#8217;s games look the same. That&#8217;s not a competitive advantage. That&#8217;s noise, at scale.&#8221;</p>
<p>Lee also went on to describe the release of <em>ARC Raiders</em> as a “Trojan horse” that could be used to bring about “a shift in the mindset” about the use of AI technologies and how it “frees developers and live service teams to spend more time thinking and less time typing. More time innovating; less time writing code.”</p>
<p>&#8220;It changes how people work,” he continued. “The tools they use, how fast they can move, what they can accomplish. But what goes into our games &#8211; the creative content our players actually experience &#8211; that remains the work of our developers. Our methodology doesn&#8217;t replace creative people, it frees them to create, with context. Today, our best people spend more time making creative decisions &#8211; decisions guided by context&#8230;context based on billions of player decisions&#8230;context that precious few companies can match.&#8221;</p>
<p>Nexon’s <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/arc-raiders-has-sold-14-million-units-significantly-exceeded-expectations-says-nexon">biggest hit</a> in recent times has been <em>ARC Raiders</em>, which is well known for having launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/arc-raiders-developer-confirms-that-ai-was-used-in-it-as-much-as-it-was-used-in-the-finals">with AI-generation used for some of its voice acting</a>. However, the company has also been <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/arc-radiers-takes-steps-to-address-ai-related-voice-acting-embark-issues-statement">taking steps to remove some of it</a>. <p>The music video takes us to El Paradiso, a casino where there&#8217;s a lot of fun to be had, although that entertainment might come at a price that&#8217;s too high for some unfortunate souls. While Jack Pepper, the game&#8217;s protagonist, makes a brief appearance, the video is still quite interesting, hinting at the kind of cases the world-weary detective might be taking on. Crooked authority figures, gangsters &#8211; the list goes on, and that&#8217;s.</p>

<p>After <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-receives-new-in-engine-trailer">remaining radio silent for nearly two years</a>, Undead Labs has resurfaced to announce alpha playtests for <em>State of Decay 3</em>. Franchise co-creator Brant Fitzgerald said in a new video that they would begin next month with <a href="https://playtest.stateofdecay.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sign-ups currently available</a>.</p>



<p>&#8220;Listen, I&#8217;m not going to spoil the surprise for you, but I can say that it will feature 4-player co-op, some new base building and resource strategies, and a whole lot of combat.&#8221; You&#8217;ll need to register your Discord and email address to join, and while slots are limited, don&#8217;t worry. Fitzgerald said that it will have &#8220;plenty of other opportunities&#8221; throughout the year.</p>



<p>But that&#8217;s not all. As the months go on, Undead Labs will share &#8220;more updates&#8221; during development, ensuring players know &#8220;what&#8217;s new, what we&#8217;re learning,&#8221; and when they can have their chance at the alpha.</p>



<p>While <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-announced-for-xbox-series-x">announced in 2020</a>, <em>State of Decay 3</em> was <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-is-in-early-pre-production-undead-labs">actually in &#8220;early pre-production&#8221;</a> at the time. Since it <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/undead-labs-to-open-up-a-new-studio-in-orlando-state-of-decay-3-to-use-unreal-engine-5">utilizes Unreal Engine 5</a>, <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-the-coalition-is-helping-development-with-its-unreal-engine-5-expertise">The Coalition would assist with their expertise</a>, and rumors indicated <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-has-better-visuals-heavier-narrative-elements-than-its-predecessor-rumor">&#8220;heavier&#8221; narrative elements and improved visual fidelity</a>. Unfortunately, development stalled after allegations of workplace toxicity and sexism, with Microsoft (which owns the studio) blamed for not responding to complaints quickly enough.</p>



<p>Nevertheless, a new in-engine trailer debuted in 2024, and though it <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-might-be-targeting-a-2025-release-rumour">didn&#8217;t end up releasing last year as rumored</a>, Undead Labs would <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-2-developer-is-ending-content-updates-to-focus-on-state-of-decay-3">stop content updates for <em>State of Decay 2</em></a> to focus on the sequel. The developer would <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3-studio-undead-labs-faces-layoffs-rumor">face an unknown number of layoffs last year</a>, but despite all these hurdles, Xbox Game Studios head Craig Duncan <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/state-of-decay-3s-development-is-coming-on-really-well-says-xbox-game-studios-head">says it&#8217;s &#8220;coming on really well.&#8221;</a> </p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the <em>Street Fighter</em> franchise&#8217;s most bizarre characters is finally joining the action, with Ingrid making her way to <em>Street Fighter 6&#8217;s</em> playable roster in late Spring as part of the Year 3 Character Pass.</p>
<p>A new teaser trailer for the character showcases her meeting with the player in a reality-bending scene, complete with adorable Monoids, in World Tour. She summarily shatters the world around him, although her reasons for doing so remain a mystery at this point. It&#8217;s going to be interesting to see how her powers come into play, but she&#8217;s generally been a mid to close-range fighter with some excellent counter-offensive options, various mix-ups to keep her opponents on their toes, and strong zoning potential for some high-damaging juggle combos.</p>
<p>Her motivations for being part of the game remain unknown at this time, but it&#8217;s clear that she&#8217;s got some business with the player (aside from serving as a new Master in World Tour). How that plays out is anyone&#8217;s guess, but we&#8217;re curious to find out more.</p>
<p>She joins <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/street-fighter-6-alex-joins-the-roster-on-march-17-gets-new-trailer-showcasing-his-moves">Alex</a>, who arrived last month, and is sure to bring some interesting mechanics to the table in what&#8217;s going to be her first mainline appearance in the franchise.</p>

<p>Big changes are coming to Bungie&#8217;s <em>Marathon</em>, hitting every single meta tactic on the board, <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/marathon-is-taking-aim-at-bubble-shields-knives-snipers-and-more-in-upcoming-balance-patches" data-type="post" data-id="640667">from thermal scopes to bubble shields</a>. However, there are also buffs inbound, especially for Shells like the Vandal and Recon, who aren&#8217;t as extensively used. While full patch notes are yet to be revealed, the development offered a &#8220;preview&#8221; on Twitter of the latter&#8217;s changes.</p>



<p>First is Echo Pulse, the Shell&#8217;s Ultimate, which will now clearly denote enemy Runners and UESC bots. And while other players can still use Signal Jammer, that will only disguise you as a UESC threat when pinged. If that wasn&#8217;t enough, it&#8217;s going to become a &#8220;bit tougher&#8221; for opposing teams to know if they&#8217;re in range of Pulses.</p>



<p>The Tracker Drone, often mocked for its unreliable tracking (the irony is strong with this one), is also getting a buff. Along with &#8220;improving its tracking strength,&#8221; it will pivot to other targets if it&#8217;s unable to reach the currently designated threat.</p>



<p>Of course, that&#8217;s only a sliver of what&#8217;s coming in update 1.0.6, which goes live on April 14th, so stay tuned for more details. And while balance changes are nice, it also introduces new items for solo players and teams who prefer &#8220;merciful&#8221; options. Will those new Implants promised in <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/marathon-players-must-cooperate-to-unlock-season-1s-cryo-archive-map-as-bungie-unveils-roadmap">the roadmap</a> also show up? One can certainly hope.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you were both amused and annoyed that the Orko&#8217;s Journey announcement was an April Fool&#8217;s joke, you could be forgiven for being a tad skeptical about <em>Merlin&#8217;s Tomb</em>, a new free DLC for <em>Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon</em>.</p>
<p>But worry not, as it&#8217;s as real as it gets. The DLC adds a new endgame dungeon, accessed from within the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/tainted-grail-the-fall-of-avalon-adds-new-mini-bosses-terrain-updates-a-customizable-home-and-more">Forlorn Swords</a> region, complete with a boss you need to beat to get through the door. Overcome that challenge, and you&#8217;re going to work your way through a lot of new content, the goal being to collect the fragments of the King&#8217;s soul to reach the titular Merlin&#8217;s Tomb.</p>
<p>Get there, and you&#8217;re going to find that the once-great sage is now a corrupted reflection of his former self, and it&#8217;s up to you to step in and help out. Of course, you&#8217;ll be rewarded for your efforts, although the scars you might earn from the fight may never go away.</p>
