CD Projekt RED has outlined its big new update for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22nd for current-gen platforms (with Switch 2 to follow later). The main appeal is the new Edgerunners 2 content, manifesting as a prequel quest featuring King’s team and somehow involving the NCPD.
While the team didn’t want to share too many details to avoid spoilers, it confirmed a new radio station with Edgerunners music. There are 16 songs in total from both seasons, in case you want to relive any sad memories from the show. Cross-platform mod support is also coming to all platforms, with an in-game menu to download them. This is only the start, with more functions planned for the coming weeks.
Console players can also look forward to a field-of-view slider, while PC gets a second-gen Transformer model for DLSS 4.5, which removes lingering noise and halo effects. Another new quest, “Night City Tours,” involves the deceased Richard Night and lore surrounding the controversial city. There’s apparently a mystery to solve here, so it’s worth paying attention.
If that wasn’t enough, dual-wielding is coming to the game. While it’s only pistols and revolvers, you can fire them separately or together, and mix and match different weapons (including Iconics). While there is a penalty, you’ll retain all effects from both weapons. You can find it in the Cool tree. Stay tuned for the full patch notes when Update 2.5 goes live tomorrow.
