The Callisto Protocol Now Allows Players to Skip Cutscenes with Update 5.01

The latest update for The Callisto Protocol now finally allows players to skip its cutscenes.

Developer Striking Distance Studios has announced that its horror game, The Callisto Protocol, is getting update 5.01 today. The update is bringing a number of new features to the game, including the ability to skip cutscenes, and Dismemberment Mode.

Going by the announcement made by the studio on Twitter, with the ability to skip cutscenes in the newest update, it hopes to promote replayability of The Callisto Protocol, as well as help make speed-runs of the game go by even faster.

The Dismemberment Mode is essentially an ultra-violent version of the core gameplay offered by The Callisto Protocol, making enemies much easier to take apart through the use of various weaponry throughout the game.

Just last month, The Callisto Protocol saw the release of The Contagion Bundle, which brought with it the eponymous Contagion Mode, making enemies faster, offering fewer resources, and removing the ability to manually save the game. Dying in Contagion Mode takes you back to the beginning of the chapter.

The Callisto Protocol is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. For more details on the game, check out our review. And if you’re interested about some of the issues it faced when it came out, go here.
