Ubisoft held its quarterly financial conference call recently with Chief Executive Officer Yves Guillemot and Chief Financial Officer Alain Martinez discussing future properties like The Crew 2, Skull and Bones and Far Cry 5.
Guillemot noted that The Crew 2’s beta registrations were at record levels for all Ubisoft titles and thus “very promising”. Martinez later noted that the game will be comparable to Steep (in a good way, of course). It was predicted that players of the first title should switch over to the sequel fairly quickly.
As for Skull and Bones, the multiplayer-centric, pirate ship battle title unveiled at E3 2017, Guillemot stated there were “very positive” reactions from those who played it at E3 2017. Beta registrations for the first phase were at record levels for what’s essentially a new IP.
Finally, Martinez said that Far Cry 5 would be the second big title of the financial year along with Assassin’s Creed Origins. It’s expected to have “significantly higher potential” than Far Cry Primal and will be either close to or exceed Ghost Recon Wildlands. If that weren’t enough, Far Cry 5 is being compared to Far Cry 3 and 4 with regards to expectations the company has for it.
