The Crew Motorfest is out, and in typical fashion it has microtransactions, as well as the associated currency systems we have all come to expect. There are two distinct currencies in the game: “Bucks” and “Crew Credits”. This guide for The Crew Motorfest will walk you through your options for earning or farming both Bucks and Crew Credits.
Bucks
Bucks are earned entirely in-game by participating in a variety of Activities:
Playlists
These are a curated series of races, and while generally quite long, there are a few that consist of shorter sprints that you can breeze through quite fast. The Hawaii Scenic Tour is the absolute simplest one, netting you roughly 30K each. Liberty Walk can earn you over 60K just for the final race. New Playlists will be released each season, so keep an eye out. Playlists can be farmed over and over even after the initial completion, it is just that they can get boring and repetitive.
Side Activities
Tabbing over from the Playlist, you will find Side Activities, which tend to be fun little tasks to accomplish during the course of driving. The payouts are not generally huge, often less than 1K, but the Photos Ops pay as much as 15K each. Specific cars are required to participate in some Side Activities.
Core & Time-limited Challenges
Upon completion of a Playlist, the relevant Challenges will be unlocked as well. These will be listed under Activities, and confer rewards in the form of both Bucks and XP. These Challenges can help change things up a little between grinding for large payouts from Playlists. Clothes and Vanities will also drop from successfully completing Challenges. Specific cars are required to participate in Challenges, but the payouts can help subsidize the cost of car ownership. You must return to the Challenges screen and manually claim your reward.
Explore
As you free roam you will come upon Treasure which can contain anything from XP to Parts to Bucks. Bear in mind that Parts drops are determined by which vehicle you are using when you open the Treasure.
Escape Feats are another option for actively farming Bucks. Select an Escape Feat that you find easy enough to comfortably complete–this is entirely subjective. Begin the Escape Feat and complete it. This only takes a few seconds. Upon completion, immediately hit the Retry prompt on the right side of the screen. Your 2K Bucks payout will still be processed, and you will be instantly teleported to the start of the Escape Feat to start it again. Rinse and repeat as much as your patience can take. This can also be done with Speed Trap Feats, but the payout is less than 1K per attempt, which is okay since it also takes a lot less time than an Escape Feat too.
Earned bucks can be used on:
- Character Cosmetics
- Vehicles
- Vehicle Customisation
- Spare Parts
Crew Credits
Crew Credits are the purchasable currency type in The Crew Motorfest. There is absolutely no way to earn them in-game, as they must be purchased with real-world cash through either the in-game store, or externally through the store.
Once you have purchased them, they can be spent on:
- Vanities
- Character Cosmetics
- Vehicles
- Vehicle Customisation
- Spare Parts
Since the only thing exclusively available to the Crew Credits currency pool are Vanities, you might be better off grinding for Bucks in order to acquire the other unlockables. Note that it can take a few hours for the currency to properly reflect in your account, up to 24.
That is everything to know about earning and farming the microtransaction currencies in The Crew Motorfest.
