The Darkness 2 and Spec Ops: The Line Headline Newest Batch of Xbox Backward Compatible Games

Three very good underrated Xbox 360 games.

Microsoft’s initiative to make Xbox 360 (and even original Xbox) games compatible on the Xbox One continues. Today, Major Nelson announced the newest batch of Xbox 360 games that will be playable on the Xbox One- it includes some of the better, yet underappreciated, games from that console’s library.

First, for the relatively larger games, we have The Darkness 2, an underrated, if repetitive, shooter that flew under the radar for most. Secondly, there is Spec Ops: The Line, a rather fantastic game that stands as one of the better examples of in game storytelling and writing, and one that manages to subvert player expectations wonderfully well.

The third game is the equally underrated The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, one of the pioneers of the early indie boom on the Xbox 360 that got lost in the shuffle somewhat. It’s a great game, hopefully it gets a second wind now on the Xbox One.
