The Division PS4 Pro Patch Improves Graphics, Still Renders Game In 1080p

The UI however will be rendered in 4K.

Ubisoft and Ubisoft Massive have released a PS4 Pro patch for The Division, which updates their shared world shooter for Sony’s newest console. And while they haven’t shared much details about what exactly the PS4 Pro version of the game might entail, the official patch notes associated with the update on PS4 have shed some light on what the Pro update brings to the table.

Apparently, the Pro update enhances the graphical fidelity of the game, allowing for better shadows and reflections, among other things. The update also makes it so that the UI of the game will be rendered in 4K resolution; however, as for the game itself, that will continue to be rendered in 1080p. This is actually a bit of a disappointment, though maybe the rest of the graphical enhancements might make up for this for The Division players.

No HDR support for The Division has been announced yet- but given how barebones and basic the game’s PS4 Pro support is right now, I’m not surprised. Hopefully HDR is something they can look into adding into the game soon, especially since that is something that all PS4 players, and not just PS4 Pro players, can enjoy.
