The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition Will Support Existing Mods

How many and to what extent hasn't been confirmed yet.

Worried that your special Tommy Wiseau horse mount and Sonic the Hedgehog skins wouldn’t make it into The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition? It seems that Bethesda will be supporting existing mods when the remaster comes about.

Bethesda’s Pete Hines answered “basically, yes” on Twitter when asked if existing mods would be supported. However, at the outset, it would seem that some work would be needed in order to properly support the same. Also, it doesn’t quite indicate how many of those mods will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One, which brings Skyrim mods to consoles for the first time.

We’ll have to wait till The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition is actually available, both on PC and consoles, in order to ascertain how many existing mods will be supported. So stay tuned for more information and don’t lose hope just yet (you might want to find a new mount in the meantime though).
