If you thought that the 50GB of space that Blu Ray discs provide would be enough for games this generation, well, you were wrong. For instance, consider the upcoming consoles version of the popular MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online. The game recently entered closed beta, which means we are going to hear and see more and more of it in the coming months.
But one fact that we have already been made privy to is the staggering size of the game’s client. Guys, it’s so big that it practically does not fit the Blu Ray disc it comes on. The game client is 65GB in size- 50GB of the Blu Ray it comes on, and then another 15GB from a day one patch that you need to download and install before you can play it.
Yikes. I wonder why the client is so big. Once we get our hands on the final game, we might be able to answer that question better.
