The Game Awards 2019 Will Have “Around” 10 Brand New Game Announcements

The show will run for roughly two and an half hours, with plenty of new announcements.

It’s almost hard to believe that not that long ago The Game Awards was a relatively small affair that host and creator Geoff Keighley jump started after most TV networks dropped the majority of gaming based programming. Now it’s one of the biggest events in gaming, even dwarfing views from major conferences. 2019 won’t be any different, as it’ll be a big event with lots of game announcements.

In a Reddit AMA, Keighley answered questions about the show he said it would have “around” 10 brand new game announcements. He doesn’t go into specifics, so it could be brand new games, DLC or something new for already announced games.

“We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show—I think there are around 10 new games / projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet,” Keighley said. “As always the internet has a lot of really bad information out there about what you think is at the show… but it sure is fun to read.”

Keighley does say that there’s lots of misinformation out there, and specifies that nothing will be there for the rumoured Resident Evil 3 Remake.

“There are no plans (never were) to do anything with Resident Evil 3 at the show,” said Keighley. “A lot of these ‘leaks’ are completely wrong. Nothing about our show has leaked as of this writing.”

The Game Awards 2019 will air live on December 12th via YouTube and Twitch and in select theaters. To take look at the list of nominations through here. Hopefully, maybe we’ll see that damn Batman game, finally.
