It feels like the remake for Resident Evil 3 has been teased in some form or another ever since the remake of Resident Evil 2 came out earlier in the year. We’ve heard that the game is coming much earlier than expected, and now we have some more evidence to back that up with leaked covers via PSN.
Gamstat tracks when things are added to the PSN, and it seems someone let the cover art for the RE3 remake slip just a tad early. There’s two covers, one for the regular edition and one for the Z version of the game (in Japan, this is the uncensored one as opposed to the regular release with a lack of gore). There’s a new look for Jill, Carlos and Nemesis. Jill looks fairly close to the original look though a little more modernized. Carlos and Nemesis both seem to get some radical redesigns, though. Check it out below.
Interestingly, there doesn’t seem to be a Deluxe or Special Edition like there was with RE2, but it could just not be uploaded as of now. These being added now means that the game probably is on the verge of being announced, possibly at next week’s The Game Awards show. We’ll keep you posted when an official announcement comes.
