The Last of Us Remastered Allows Players A Choice Between 2160p/30fps or 1800p/60fps on PS4 Pro

Substantial visual upgrades.

Naughty Dog had confirmed that they will be supporting the PlayStation 4 Pro as well, so it should come as no surprise that their two PS4 games – The Last of Us Remastered and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – have both been updated for PS4 Pro support. Neither should the stunning quality of visuals that players will see with these games on the PS4 Pro surprise anyone- after all, this studio has a track record for beautiful games.

Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog shared some details about what the PS4 Pro enhancements to their games would entail- I think the details should largely make you happy.

“For those with a 4K display, Uncharted 4’s story can be played on PS4 Pro at 1440p resolution, up from 1080p on PS4. Multiplayer’s fluid, high-framerate gameplay remains the same, but the resolution has also been increased to a full 1080p on PS4 Pro, up from 900p on PS4. The Last of Us Remastered, on the other hand, allows you to choose whether you want to play in the game’s original target framerate of 30 frames per second at 2160p or at a high targeted 60 frames per second at 1800p.”

I’m a bit bummed that the single player mode in Uncharted 4 didn’t get a frame rate bump, but that apart, it sounds like the PS4 Pro enhancements are certainly substantial enough. The PS4 Pro launched yesterday worldwide. It is available for $399.
