The Last Remnant Remastered is out this week and Square Enix has done quite lot to revamp the title. Unreal Engine 4 is now powering the game, leading to sharper textures and improved image quality overall. However, while increased visual fidelity is an added bonus, the developer has added some quality of life features as well.
For instance, you can now use “high-speed movement”. In essence, this simply increases one’s movement speed, allowing for faster traversal through the world. While we have to get our hands on the game to see how this affects the overall pacing, it’s still good to have the option.
Along with shifting to Unreal Engine 4, The Last Remnant Remastered will also include content from the PC version. As such, the story – which focuses on the war between different races over magical artifacts called the Remnants – should still hold up in the current generation, so expect a long epic quest. The remaster is out on December 6th for PS4 and will be available on the PlayStation Store.
