Open world first person adventure title Windscape by Headup Games, which is currently in Early Access on Steam, will be launching in full on March 27, when it’ll also simultaneously be releasing on the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One as well. Featuring a cel-shaded aesthetic, non-linear open world exploration, and combat and puzzle oriented dungeons, the game is inspired heavily by the likes of The Legend of Zelda and Secret of Mana.
“Ever since my childhood I was a huge fan of the Zelda series of games, Golden Axe Warrior, Secret of Mana and games in which let you explore a vivid world without time pressures and a too restrictive storyline,” the developer, Dennis Witte, said in a press release. “Over the past year and a half I’ve been working on my vision of a modern exploration adventure, combining it with my fondness for modern crafting and sandbox games.”
On top of exploration and dungeon-crawling elements, Windscape also features a crafting system, while players will also be interacting with various NPCs as they engage in non-linear exploration across the several islands that serve as the game’s setting.
A trailer for the game, featuring new footage, has also been released, and it confirms the release date of March 27th on all three platforms. The footage also showcases its beautiful visuals and gives glimpses of exploration, dungeons, and crafting mechanics. Take a look below.
