Sales data for boxed video game sales in the UK during the week ending September 21 is in, courtesy of UKIE/Gfk Chart-Track, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening’s Switch remake has entered the charts in pole position for solid debut. The remake, developed by Grezzo, is the studio’s biggest Zelda launch in the UK yet, surpassing Majora’s Mask 3D and Ocarina of Time 3D, the latter by 27 per cent (via GamesIndustry).
Borderlands 3, which debuted on top of the charts last week, has fallen to second place after 69 per cent drop in sales, but remains the fastest selling game of 2019 in the UK. Gears 5, which debuted in second place last week, has fallen to No. 4, while eFootball PES 2020, which was yet another new release last week, falls from third place to No. 5.
The Division 2 saw a notable bump in sales. Thanks to discounts at UK retail, the game saw a 114 per cent spike in sales, moving up from 20th place last week to No. 6 this week. The rest of the top 10 features a lot of the usual suspects, including the likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Grand Theft Auto 5, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
