The Surge 2’s Final Release Will Not Have Denuvo

The anti-tamper tech gets the axe in the final version of the game.

If there’s two things that will quickly make PC players grind their teeth, it’s an Epic Games Store exclusive announcement, and that an upcoming release will be using Denuvo. The anti-damper/cheat software is one that’s become somewhat of an industry standard, and one many players dislike for a lot of reasons. Well, if you’re looking forward to The Surge 2, the upcoming action RPG from Deck13, you can breath easy. It’s neither exclusive to EGS, nor will the final release have Denuvo.

The beta of the game did feature the software, leaving many to assume the retail release ultimately would as well. But Deck13 confirmed via the Steam forums for the game that it would, in fact, not be using the controversial anti-tamper tech. Those who don’t like Denuvo will undoubtedly be happy, and to be honest, it’d be cracked fast anyway.

The Surge 2 releases September 24th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For absolutley everything you need to know on the upcoming action RPG, we got you covered through here.
