The Witcher is about as hot as a property can get nowadays without being part of some ridiculous cinematic universe or what have you. A Netflix adaptation of the novels helped skyrocket the game to new heights, which included the Steam player count for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt spiking to unseen levels. It’s not just players returning, either, financially it gave the game a good boost as well.
As announced via CD Projekt RED’s Twitter, from October 1st, 2018 to now, The Witcher 3 made $50 million on Steam. That’s a pretty incredible number to reach in a short time, it also means the developer will now be seeing 80% profit from any continuing sales on the platform.
The Witcher 3 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Cross save was also just recently announced between the PC version (including Steam) and the Switch edition, which you can read more about through here.
