The Witcher 3 Passes 100,000 Concurrent Player Count On Steam

That whole Netflix thing is paying off.

While CD Projekt RED had always been a name those in PC circles knew, it’s fair to say that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt helped to rocket them to the next level. The game was hugely popular and hitting consoles at the same time put a lot more eyes on the company and game series than before. And it helped the IP as a whole too, as a new Netflix show based on the franchise is running wild now, which reflects in current trends of the game.

It was reported at the end of last year that The Witcher 3 had broken its all time peak player count on Steam with concurrent player count of 94,601. At the beginning of the new year, though, that player count was once again broken with the player count reaching a staggering 101,930 on January 1st.

Considering that’s only on Steam and the game is available on multiple other storefronts and all three major consoles, I think it’s fair to say the whole Netflix thing has worked out quite well for the franchise.
