CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 3 won’t have a multiplayer mode. The studio’s head of marketing Michal Platkow-Gilweski told Eurogamer that there’s no place for that in a story-driven game.
“Yes, I can confirm this,” he said. “There’s no place for multiplayer in so strongly a story-driven game as The Witcher 3. We want to focus on the single-player experience, delivering more than 100 hours of truly immersive gameplay.
“Geralt can be only one…”
This is a good approach by the CD Projekt RED as adding multiplayer in games which do not fit will only prove to be unproductive. Tomb Raider was a good example of this. While the game had an incredible single player, no one really cared about the multiplayer component. Well, maybe someone did, but that still applies.
