Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Gets 24 Minutes of Gameplay Footage

As we can see, this game has better combat than The Witcher 3.

CD Projekt RED’s Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, the upcoming single player RPG that replaces battles with games of Gwent (which means it will have better combat than The Witcher 3), just got a new video showcasing 24 minutes of gameplay footage today, courtesy of Entertainium.

The video shows us what the game is like in motion— an isometric RPG, somewhat in the vein of classic 2.5D cRPGs, with a cartoony art style. This should, of course, instantly make it accessible to more people than the M rated Witcher 3 could have reached, and also go along far better with Gwent’s art style (which is a more stylized representation of characters and events in the main games and stories).

This is also the first time in a while that we’ve gotten a big budget single player card RPG — most modern ones seem to be mostly concerned with multiplayer — so that’s another crowd that is bound to love the game when it launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 23.
