Titanfall 2 Sees Resurgence Off The Back Of Apex Legends’ Popularity

Hopefully this makes an actual full fledged Titanfall 3 likely.

Apex Legends, the free to play battle royale game released by Respawn Entertainment, and set in the Titanfall universe, has been exceptionally popular. So popular, in fact, that apparently it is causing a resurgence in the popularity of Titanfall 2, the last full release in the series, again.

Reddit is pointing out that the Xbox One has hit 10,000 players online, where the peak over the last year has been 5,000 or so; the PS4 is almost at 5,000 players, almost double the 3,000 or so it usually averages. Finally, the PC version is at 3,500 players, more than double the 1,000 or so it usually accrues.

It’s great to see Titanfall 2 suddenly doing so well, because it’s a fantastic game that deserves far more success than it has gotten. Hopefully, this will make an actual proper Titanfall 3 more likely; right now, even though there is a new Titanfall game planned for this year, we know it’s not going to be a full third entry in the series.
