Respawn Entertainment recently reported that anti-cheat measures were on the way for players using aimbots and other hacks in Titanfall. Now, the developer has begun actively identifying and kicking players on the way to implementing its anti-cheat system.
“Curious about anti-cheat/hackers? We have started kicking players and more will follow.”
Software engineer Jon Shiring also revealed that the anti-cheat wasn’t enabled from release but that, “It’s always been being used to detect them. We’re starting to kick them, and there’s more coming soon.”
As for why players haven’t been banned yet, Shiring reiterated Respawn’s stance and said “We are starting to now. It’s useful to watch them a bit without revealing your hand.”
Regardless, Titanfall has seen an excellent measure of success, debuting on top of the UKIE game charts in the UK and increasing hardware sales of the Xbox One by 96 percent within the beginning weekend. How has your experience with the game been thus far? Let us know below.
