Now this is interesting: Apparently campaign maps in Titanfall, which is an online-only multiplayer first person shooter, each have their own game mode. Sounds normal, right? According to Respawn Entertainment producer Drew McCoy when speaking to OXM though, those levels won’t play host to any other modes.
“The campaign plays the levels with their missions in a specific order to tell the story. Each campaign level has its own game mode – it’s not like you’ll play Attrition, then another time you’ll play a different mode. In the campaign, Angel City is Attrition. That’s the story for that level.
“When you first start the game you will play campaign multiplayer, which takes the bits and pieces you’re used to having in single-player, like a story and characters, and big moments that contextualize what you’re doing – we’re putting that into multiplayer.”
Keep in mind that this is for campaign multiplayer. There should be options for playing different campaign levels with different modes. Will Titanfall follow that approach or restrict itself when the game launches on March 11th 2014 for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC? We’ll find out in the coming months.
