Todd Howard Talks About Fallout 4 In This New interview

Bethesda emphasized gameplay over graphics.

Fallout 4 looks like it will be an absolutely amazing game when it launches later this year, presenting players with the kind of stylish role playing experience that fans of the franchise have come to expect, married with the kind of open world that only Fallout can provide. In this new interview, which you can see embedded below, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard discusses just what all went into the making of the game- and it turns out that it is the little things that matter when it comes to making an open world believable.

It is also now abundantly clear that, in spite of all of the allegations that arose when the game was originally revealed, thanks to its perceived less than stellar graphics, this is simply not a game that could have been done on the previous generation consoles- Fallout 4 is simply too reliant on the extra resources afforded by the PS4 and Xbox one base spec. Bethesda opted to use the memory in new-gen consoles, emphasising world design, and AI dynamics over graphics.

Personally, that sounds like a good choice to me.

Fallout 4 launches this November on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned.
