Bandai Namco have released a gameplay trailer for the upcoming Dontnod developed surreal psychological thriller, Twin Mirror. The video, accompanied by developer commentary, takes a look at the opening minutes of the game, and talks about several interesting things, such as the town of Basswood (its setting), the protagonist, and some cool looking gameplay mechanics.
The protagonist, Sam seems to have an alter-ego of sorts known as The Double, a wisecracking manifestation of his “inner voice”. Sam arrives in Basswood at the beginning of the game to attend the funeral of his best friend, and things quickly take a weird turn from there. The video also shows Sam going into his “Mind Palace”, Sherlock Holmes style, to use his abilities of deductive reasoning to piece together fractured memories.
Take a look at the video below, it’s really quite something. Episode 1 of Twin Mirror, titled “Lost on Arrival”, launches early next year for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, though Dontnod Entertainment have also hinted that the game might come out on the Nintendo Switch as well. Recently, a developer diary for the game revealed interesting details about the game’s setting and characters, while the developers also talked about how the game will handle exploration elements.
