Unravel isn’t a particularly demanding game on most PCs- but, as is always the case, it can cause some unexpected problems when you attempt to run it. In this section, we outline some of the most common issues that players of the PC version of Unravel often encounter, as well as some fixes for those problems. Please be advised that the following methods are to be used at the sole discretion of the platform owner. GamingBolt or its staff members take no responsibility for problems that may arise or issues that may occur from trying the below. Always remember that official support is always the best support.
However, before we move on to doing that, ensure that your PC at least meets the minimum requirements for running the game:
- OS: Windows 7/8/10 – 64-Bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon Phenom X2 @ 2.8Ghz AMD
- RAM: 4GB
- Minimum Supported Video Cards: “DX11 class hardware and feature set, PC: GeForce GT 450 or Radeon HD 5750 or better, with 512 MB or greater, Laptop: GeForce GTX 745M, AMD Radeon HD 8650G or Intel 4400 or better”
No Waves In The Sea
This is a common bug in the game that can prevent progress; to resolve this issue, restart from the Pause menu. Restarting should cause the waves to generate, and allow you to progress.
Other Progress Inhibiting Issues
In general, each time you run into an issue in the game that inhibits your progress – Yarny getting stuck in objects, invisible walls, and what not – just revert to the previous checkpoint. Press the END key to immediately load the previous checkpoint.
Unexpected Crashes
If Unravel crashes each time Yarny comes across a memory, then you need to update your drivers.
Poor performance when playing offline
Assuming your computer meets the minimum requirements listed above, if the game takes a performance hit when you play it offline, then you may need to quit the game and reboot your PC.
Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of Unravel.
