Riot Games’ Valorant is now live worldwide on PC. The free to play, team-based first person shooter comes with four maps – including the recently added Ascent – and a new Agent, Reyna. Check out the cinematic trailer below along with a gameplay trailer taking place on Ascent.
Valorant plays like a cross between Counter-Strike: GO and hero shooters like Overwatch. Two teams of five players partake in a best of 24 rounds match with one side attacking and trying to plant the Spike while the other attempts to stop them. Weapons and armor can be purchased between rounds.
What really mixes up the realistic shooting mechanics and heavy team coordination are the abilities and Agent roles. Each Agent falls into a specific class – namely Duelist, Initiator, Controller and Sentinel – while having their own specific niches for each situation. How to best synergize with your team to eke out the win while managing your overall economy is key.
Valorant is only available for PC. Check out our guide here for some tips and tricks from the closed beta.
