This month, we will see the return of the legendary Half-Life series with VR title Half-Life: Alyx. The game is hinted to be the beginning of grand return for the franchise, which is exciting. Not too exciting for some fans is the VR-only nature of the title, but you know, that is what it is.
There will be a variety of ways to play the game with various headsets, but the optimal way will be the Valve Index, Valve’s high-end VR set. Unfortunately, due to the current coronavirus outbreak, the supply will be more limited than once planned. But you will have a chance to get your hands on the headset before Alyx releases.
Valve has announced (via Steam Database on Twitter) that there will be a restock coming before the game releases on the 23rd. As of now, there is no official time frame besides that, with a lot of unverified rumors going around about when the stock will happen, with some saying it’ll be as soon as March 9th.
Unfortunately, due to limited stocks it will most likely not be an easy get when the headset does come in stock. At least you will have alternative options for when Half-Life: Alyx does come out near the end of the month, with the game also being compatible with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality.
