Digital Extremes is finally closing in on releasing Warframe’s most ambitious update yet – Plains of Eidolon which brings an open world environment to the free to play title for the first time. Details have been sketchy on when exactly it releases (aside from “this week” of course) but we could be hitting the home stretch.
According to community manager Rebecca Ford in a new forum post, the 99th devstream for the game will take place on October 13th at 2 PM ET. Ford noted that the team is “hoping” the update will be out for PC before the stream takes place. If it arrives after the stream, then the developer will share update notes live with players. Either way, more than 3 GB of content is expected.
Warframe’s Plains of Eidolon update brings quite a lot to the table. Aside from the huge open landscape with its own day/night cycle, the Focus system has seen a rework to make Operators more combat-oriented, huge beasts called Eidolon exist to be hunted, weapon crafting is coming and much more.
