Wargroove Player Using Creation Tools To Recreate All Original Advance Wars Campaign Maps

Wargroove's excellent suite of creation tools is being put to great use already.

It’s no secret that Wargroove is heavily influenced by Nintendo’s classic turn based tactics series Advance Wars. Sadly, the latter has been dead in the water for a decade now, and with no indications that it’ll be returning anytime soon, Wargroove is what we’re left with (not that I’m complaining, it’s more than an adequate replacement). But not only is Wargroove an excellent tactics game that fills the Advance Wars-shaped void, it also offers some excellent and robust creation tools to allow players to create both, their own maps and their own campaigns.

It hasn’t take players long to put those tools to great use- a user on Reddit, who goes by the username HalcyonsGlory (via Nintendo Life), is recreating all 34 maps found in the campaign of the first Advance Wars title, which launched on the Gameboy Advance in 2001, using the creation tools in Wargroove. They have already recreated the first four maps, which you can download using the code 6FK77AS6. The great news, as you might remember, is that since Wargroove is game with cross-play functionalities, you can download and play these maps no matter which system you’re on. You can check out some images of all the maps through here.

Wargroove developers and publisher Chucklefish recently announced that the game had already sold enough to recoup its development costs, and would be receiving constant support in the forum of updates, new content, and QoL improvements. Read more on that through here. The success is very well deserved- Wargroove is great game, and its creation suite is perhaps is best aspect. Get more details in our review.
