Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has been a huge success for the studio. In a statement to Games Industry Biz, CEO Martin Wahlund revealed that over 500,000 units in just four days of launching.
“We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts. 500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release,” said Wahlund.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 picks up from the first game immediately with our heroes battling the Skaven who have teamed up with the Warriors of Chaos. Battling across three acts of four maps each (not counting the Prologue), players can choose five different heroes with three Careers each. There’s also loot to discover with different stats and bonuses to further increase one’s killing potential. Should things become too easy, players can bump up the difficulty for even more rewards.
The series’ Left 4 Dead-esque approach to killing mobs of enemies helped it earn a strong following with the first game and it seems Fatshark has made all the right moves with the sequel. Expect more support in the coming months, especially with the first DLC pack being free to those who pre-ordered.
