Though rife with issues at launch (which patches have helped resolve), InXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 3 stands out as an excellent tactical turn-based RPG. The developer has since announced on Twitter that the title reached one million players. It also shared a live-action short film it shot several years ago as a mood piece for life in post-apocalyptic Colorado.
While that figure is certainly impressive, it doesn’t necessarily reflect sales figures since Wasteland 3 was available at launch on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. It would be interesting to learn more about the revenue generated, especially when Wasteland 2 managed to earn $1.5 million in just four days of release. Time, as always, will tell.
Wasteland 3 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It tells the story of November Squad, whose survivors journey to Colorado Springs to assist the Patriarch in return for aid.
