Watch Dogs 2 Seamless Multiplayer Delayed, Will Now Be Coming With The Next Patch

The patch is already in certification, so it's only a matter of a few days.

The seamless multiplayer functionality has been one of the big selling points for Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2– but it doesn’t look like players will be able to go hands on with it right away. A day before the game’s launch, Ubisoft have disabled the functionality for the game, pushing it instead to the release of the next patch (not the day one patch).

What are Ubisoft’s reasons for doing this? Well, the seamless multiplayer feature is causing lag issues in the game, Ubisoft say, so they’ve issued a patch to address the issue, and simply disabled the feature until then. Until the seamless multiplayer is enabled, players can still play standard four player co-op by inviting players via the menu.

Watch Dogs 2 is, in any case, a great enough game that you might want to get it, even if the delay of the seamless multiplayer bums you out- the patch adding it back in is already in certification at Microsoft and Sony, so it’s just a matter of a few days, anyway.
