World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Has Six Updates Planned for 2023

"Our goal for Dragonflight is that there should always be something right around the corner, with a new update hitting our test realms shortly after the last one is live and in your hands," says executive producer Holly Longdale.

World of Warcraft’s track record with expansions has been hit or miss over recent years, but the long-running MMORPG’s dedicated community seems to largely agree that Dragonflightwhich launched in November, is some of the best content that Blizzard Entertainment has put out for the game in a long time. Unsurprisingly, Blizzard has plans to keep supporting the expansion for some time to come- much more so than recent expansions, in fact.

Writing in an update on the game’s official website, executive producer Holly Longdale has said that Blizzard’s goal with updates for Dragonflight is “that there should always be something right around the corner”, with new updates hitting test reals “shortly after the last one is live and in your hands.”

To that end, the expansion will receive a total of six updates in 2023. Dragonflight’s first season of post-launch content kicked off earlier this month, and Seasons 2 and 3 are expected to arrive after Spring and Fall respectively, with each also being preceded by two smaller patches. These patches will bring variety of additions and tweaks, such as the new Trading Post feature, world events, story quests, Holiday updates, system updates, and more. Recently, it was also announced that former Blizzard and Warcraft veteran Chris Metzen has returned to the company as a creative advisor on the MMORPG, with a view for further involvement in future projects. Read more on that through here.
