World War Z Coming To Nintendo Switch; GOTY Release For Current Versions In May

The releases also come alongside new PvE content.

Left 4 Dead left a void in many people’s lives. The co-op shooter had you navigate a seemingly impossible amount of zombies in massive hordes. Well, as it often goes, something came to fill that void in World War Z. The game, based loosely on the novel of the same name, found huge success by filling our hearts with its ridiculous hordes of the undead, and now it gets even more life, even some that will be on the go.

Talking to IGN, developer Saber Interactive announced the current versions of the game will get a GOTY re-release. It will have the full game and all of the DLC released thus far, as well as new content such as weapons, character skins and a new three-mission PvE episode set in the French city of Marseille. Presumably, those who own the current release will be able to purchase this content, but it’s not clarified at this time.

Secondly, the company also confirms that a Switch version of the game is in development. Saber CEO Matt Karch said that getting the port to run is “the hardest thing that we have had to do,” which is saying a lot when you remember these are they same people who ported The Witcher 3 to Nintendo’s hybrid. Unforutnately, no time frame or footage was given for this release.

World War Z: GOTY Edition will release on May 5th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store). The Switch version will come at a later date.
