Visual Concepts and 2K Games revealed the roster recently for WWE 2K24, but two key figures – Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon – were missing. While they may be unlockable, given the lawsuit from a former WWE employee against McMahon (with Lesnar also involved), it seems unlikely.
However, both are allegedly present in the game despite being unplayable. A source “familiar with the game’s development” to GameSpot about the same, revealing, “We are always in lockstep with the WWE on how our game reflects what’s happening in the WWE universe.”
“Certain personalities play a role in the historical 2K Showcase and the narrative-driven MyRise experience but are not available on the playable roster.”
While this can be interpreted differently, even for characters like CM Punk (who returned to the roster last November), it makes sense for McMahon and Lesnar to be involved. MyRISE is about two rookie wrestlers making their way through the industry, which would probably have them interact with McMahon at some point.
Meanwhile, the 2K Showcase covers memorable matches from 40 years of Wrestlemania and Brock Lesnar beating The Undertaker to end the latter’s streak certainly qualifies. Time will tell, so stay tuned when WWE 2K24 launches on March 8th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.
