Microsoft has announced its own subscription service for Xbox Game Pass for the Xbox One. Like EA Access, this offers unlimited access a $9.99 per month for more than 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles (the latter being backwards compatible on the former). The service will launch in Spring 2017.
Unlike EA Access though, not every game will remain forever. New games will cycle in each month while others cycle out. The criteria for which games remain and which don’t hasn’t been disclosed.
Microsoft noted that all Xbox One titles along with their add-ons listed in the catalog can be purchased at a discount for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Though Xbox Insiders will be able to try the service now, Xbox Live Gold members will also receive access prior to Game Pass’s launch.
What kind of games can you expect? Thus far, it seems Halo 5: Guardians, Saints Row IV Re-Elected, NBA 2K16, Mad Max, LEGO Batman, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Terraria, Payday 2, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Fable III, Soul Calibur 2 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 among others.
