Xbox One Could Support Original Xbox Games, “Need to Finish Xbox 360 First”

Microsoft's Phil Spencer has also been curious about backwards compatibility for the original Xbox.

Ever since Microsoft announced that the Xbox One would support backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games, that too at no additional cost, there have been a wave of announcements regarding additions to the list of supported titles. One of the cooler benefits of backwards compatibility is the chance to play Xbox 360 games offered through Games With Gold as well, thus doubling one’s effective game library.

But what are the chances of the original Xbox’s games, which includes Halo 2, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee and Panzer Dragoon Orta? The thought already crossed Xbox division boss Phil Spencer’s mind.

Spencer stated on Twitter that, “I don’t think it’s silly. I ask the BC [backwards compatibility] team this question a lot. Need to finish 360 BC for now.”

It would certainly be interesting considering how many forgotten but intriguing titles released on the Xbox back in the day. Would you be interested in backwards compatibility for original Xbox games? Let us know in the comments.
