Xbox One Elite Controller Got A Big Discount In Europe Ahead Of Gamescom

It was there and now it's gone, will it be back?

Just ahead of Gamescom the UK version of Amazon was running a special on the Xbox One Wireless Elite Controller that saw it’s price cut in half, according to Eurogamer. It seems that if that sale was indeed large and in charge, it was also incredibly popular because the site is now sold out. The same sale was not offered to the regular Xbox One controller and it doesn’t appear that the deal is being offered on the US site either.

It seems that Amazon did this specifically because of the massive gaming conference that is taking place in Germany. Of course, by all accounts Microsoft is winning Gamescom something fierce. It appears this particular deal might have been yet another way for the company to win over gaming fans in a big way. This new controller was announced back in June, just before E3 kicked off. The controller is part of a bigger move by Microsoft to gain some ground on Sony and the PS4.

Sony isn’t attending Gamescom this year and that has meant that Microsoft has been able to grab the spotlight all for itself. By all accounts the company has totally managed to do just that. Selling on its own, the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller is priced at $149, which means that the 42 percent price cut on the Amazon UK website was quite impressive indeed. Whether or not that deal will be back is anyone’s guess considering just how big the deal was and that it was unannounced.
