Microsoft may have fell from the graces of the mainstream gamer back at the beginning of the generation, but it’s hard to say that they haven’t done everything they can to turn that around. According to a well-known industry analyst with Niko Partners, the Xbox One X has a lot to do with that.
Daniel Ahmad would state on Resetera, that when the Xbox One X’s sales data is launch aligned with PlayStation 4 Pro, the 4K Xbox is outselling the Sony competition. Ahmad is basing his statements off of NPD data that isn’t out for the public yet, so until it does the only thing backing up the statement is his reputation, but it isn’t a stretch.
Ahmed also would state that Xbox One as a family has shifted roughly 35 Million units. Microsoft stopped officially releasing these numbers back in 2015, preferring to use their Xbox Live engagement. For comparison sake however, Sony announced recently that the PS4 has sold 76.5 Million Units.
