Xbox One Placeholder Price is $899.00 on EB Games Australia

Controller retailing for $99 (placeholder price).

A Reddit user recently posted posted an image for EB Games Australia, which has the Xbox One up for pre-order. The retail site currently has the next gen console available for pre-order at a whopping $899 (which translates to $868 USD) while the controller sells for $99 ($96 USD).

Granted, it clearly specifies that both are placeholder prices. However, given that other retail listings have the console pegged at more than $700 USD, we have to wonder – just how much will the Xbox One cost?

To be fair, the PS4 has been popping up in listings for more than $700 USD as well. But if the actual price range for either console manages to shoot up beyond $800 USD, it’ll be amazing to see how either company will sell them to us.

For that matter, $96 USD for an extra controller? Even more than $60 USD is asking too much.

What are your thoughts on the prices? What will Microsoft price their next generation Xbox One console at?
