Xbox One to Feature 8 GB of RAM, Blu-Ray Drive, Kinect With 1080p Field of View

Microsoft reveals the technology behind the Xbox One.

Microsoft’s Marc Whitten took the stage at the Xbox Reveal event, where the Xbox One was announced, and after a small rib at Apple, announced the system’s core specs.

According to Whitten, the Xbox One has 5 Billion Transistors, 8 GB of RAM and a 500 GB HDD. But that’s not all – it’s architecture is 64-bit, with a Blu-ray drive and various power states. It also comes with built-in Wi-Fi and can operate silently if need be.

Kinect has also been significantly powered up with a 1080p field of view, reportedly making it more powerful than ever. Microsoft is touting this as “offering human control for a human experience”.

Scary or the future? You decide. Thus far, it’s all been about Kinect and the design for the Xbox One which looks pretty bulky and awful.
