Xbox One/PS4 Resolution and Frame Rate Differences Only Visible on TVs Larger Than 60 Inches

Microsoft UK's Harvey Eagle does believe that the Xbox One must fight the perception that it is less powerful than PS4.

Microsoft UK marketing executive Harvey Eagle has once again stirred the pot regarding frame rates and resolution differences between the PS4 and Xbox One. Eagle stated to CVG that gamers would be hard-pressed to find differences between either console’s resolution and frame rate on a display smaller than 60 inches.

“If you put third-party games side-by-side that are running at slightly different resolutions or frame rates, then unless you are using a screen that’s more than 60 inches big, I defy you to really see the difference. I personally struggle to see the difference.”

Eagle does believe that Microsoft needs to overcome the perception that the Xbox One is less powerful than the PS4. “I think it’s a perception challenge, absolutely. It’s important, certainly. It’s something the media has certainly picked up on. If that leads to the perception that one machine is more powerful than another, then it’s important, and we’re trying to allow developers to bring games to Xbox One at the highest resolution and frame rate as possible.”
