The final expansion for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 called Torna: The Golden Country was announced back in June, and since then, we’ve learned that it’s going to be much larger in scope and size than what we had initially thought (the game’s pretty much a standalone release at this point). Now a brand new trailer has been released for The Golden Country, offering an overview of the entire expansion. If you’re interested in the expansion, it will be available as downloadable content if you have the Expansion Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and also as a standalone retail version.
This expansion will focus on Jin, who was one of the antagonist in the main game, and it will detail how exactly he started down his dark path 500 years before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Players will have to use Blades and Drivers to face off against Malos and his forces, once again.
To see all of the new things that the expansion brings, check out the new trailer below, but do note that it’s in Japanese. Meanwhile, a story trailer was also recently released for The Torna Country– it’s in English, and you can watch it through here. Additionally, it was also confirmed quite recently that Xenoblade Chronicles X’s Elma will be included in the upcoming expansion as a Blade.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna- The Golden Country will release for the Nintendo Switch on September 14, and the standalone physical edition will release in Europe on this day as well. In North America, the standalone retail version will release later on September 21.
