As one of the best RPGs to have been released this side of 2010, Xenoblade Chronicles’ Nintendo Switch release is something that many have been looking forward to for a while now. But since its first announcement, we haven’t really heard anything concrete about when it will launch- other than a couple of retailer listings here and there, which are far from an official source.
That said, there have bee several other signs that the game is definitely closer than you’d think- and another one has recently reared its head. The listing for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition recently went live on the Nintendo Switch eShop. It doesn’t include any release date information, and though a listing by itself isn’t ordinarily much to base this kind of stuff on, it’s worth noting that Nintendo usually doesn’t put up listings for its games on the eShop until they’re at least somewhat close to release.
Again, this is by no means concrete, but add to this the fact that the game has also been rated by the ESRB and in South Korea, and it starts seeming all the more likely that it’s launch is perhaps not too far away. This is particularly interesting development because there have been leaks and rumours floating about of late that there will be a Nintendo Direct presentation later this month. If that does end up happening, it’s very likely that Nintendo will announce a firm release date for Xenoblade then.
Either way, we’ll keep you updated on any new developments, so stay tuned.
