Nintendo Directs Rumored For Later This Month To Cover 2020 Lineup

Allegedly, there will be two Directs focusing on indies and bigger titles.

Nintendo was really ahead of the curve when it comes to the digital distribution model of content announcements with their Directs. They’ve largely been aped by platform holders and other publishers, and with a currently sparse looking 2020 lineup for the Switch, fans are hungry for a new Direct. Now the rumors are flying to expect not one, but two, very soon.

Jeff Grubb, a staff writer at GamesBeat, has said he’s heard that Nintendo is in the process of putting together two Directs for this month that details the company’s lineup for the remainder of the year. One will be focused on an Indie World presentation focusing on indies (of course) that he thinks will come next week, while the other will be more general and presumably focus on larger-scale projects, which will come at the end of the month. In a report published about the same on GamesBeat, Grubb says Nintendo will “continue relying heavily on remasters and ports,” which is very much in line with previous reports (and Nintendo’s own actions).

Now, as I’m sure we’ll be reminded in the comments and on Twitter (yes, I read those, I see you), rumors about Nintendo Directs have been relatively hit or miss. So, of course, take this with a big grain of salt.
