Earlier in the year, it was announced that cult classic XIII would be getting remake for modern systems. Since that announcement it’s been pretty quiet, and it seems we now know why, as it’s been revealed that the game has been delayed until next year.
The game is based on the French graphic novel of the same name, and has a cel-shaded style. While the game didn’t perform well when it was originally released in 2003, it’s gained quite the following for its unique look and multiplayer. Originally slated for November 13th of this year, Microids announced today that it will now release later. The President of the company said in the press release the reason for the delay came down to wanting to make sure the game had the proper level of polish.
November isn’t the best of time for these smaller projects, generally speaking, so it’s probably for the best to try and find a good window early in the next year. XIII will release in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
